At one point we produced a collection in Peru and that was a nightmare where contractors stole money, we were hit with unexpected tariffs and duties while trying to import the products, and on and on. They would take our stuff off their machines and put other bigger brands on instead. They would overpromise and underdeliver, or not deliver at all. It seemed like everybody we dealt with was trying to take advantage of us in some way. Lefty was born out of my frustration with my experience building my maternity line. Q: What led you to start Lefty Production Co.? We’re chasing relationships that we can invest in for the long-term. We want to make sure that we are the right fit for them from the start and we won’t take on a client if we don’t believe we can provide everything they need to succeed. We don’t charge anything to have an initial call with interested designers and brands. Our approach is to build long-lasting relationships that start with the very first phone call. It always comes back to our relationships with our clients and our focus on customer service. Q: What makes your company different from its competitors? – A one stop shop apparel and accessories design, development and production company. They become our friends and we grow together because we help and support each other. We care about our employees and our clients. My prior partner and I used to joke that we would be ahead of the game if all we did was promise “not to be assholes.” As basic as it sounds, that has really been the biggest reason for our success. Most of them chase only the biggest brands and have no interest in helping emerging designers and brands. It’s extremely hard to show up and be taken seriously by vendors and factories. To just expect the fashion industry to be brutal. Q: Knowing what you know now, what would you have told yourself when you were in your twenties? He’s always looking for me to accomplish the next thing and the next which is where I get my drive. My dad has always pushed me and while he’s always been proud of my accomplishments, he never wants me to sit still. He taught me that having a business is like having a big family and you’ve got to take responsibility for your employees and really care about their wellbeing. On family vacations, we would be at Kinkos everywhere across the country so that he could stay in touch with his office and send back important paperwork. He built a law practice and I got to observe all the ups and downs of running a business. Q: Who has been your biggest influence, and why did they have such a significant effect on you?ĭefinitely my dad. It is the very best way for a new designer to start a brand from scratch and it is also a fantastic solution for large brands that need their production done right. offers an unrivaled level of customer service, responsiveness and attention to detail. Emily and I set out to build a solution: a one stop shop development and production company that cares about its clients and their brands. Having produced in the US, Peru, India and China, I experienced, first hand, how difficult and unforgiving the fashion industry can be for a young brand. to produce private label brands for Zulily, Gilt Groupe, and Urban Outfitters. My co-founder, Emily Roiff, and I then built Lefty Production Co. I learned the Los Angeles fashion scene from Rosetta Getty and was a sales rep for Christian Siriano before launching Moody Mamas, a maternity line that was sold at Nordstrom, Target, Walmart and various boutiques. Q: Who are you and what’s your background? She shared her thoughts on the past, present, and future of the company, as well as the insight she gained from her experience in the fashion industry and starting her business. Finance Strategists sat down with Marta Miller, founder of Lefty Production Co. By that, I mean that if you need to use regular expressionsĪs predicates (does a string match a certain pattern?), kantan.regex is absolutely not the right tool for the job. Kantan.regex is meant to fill that void - and nothing else. It provides support for full perl5.6 regex syntax and is compliant with. Unfortunately, doesn’t do much with that - the regex library is great for checking matches, but not extracting The JRegex is compact and efficient regular expression library for Java. A package of the Java Image I/O API containing the plug-in interfaces for readers, writers, transcoders, and streams, and a runtime registry. Note that even if the changes in C++ library does not affect the corresponding Java interfaces, you. A regular expression (shortened as regex or regexp), sometimes referred to as rational expression, is a sequence of characters that specifies a match pattern in text.Usually such patterns are used by string-searching algorithms for 'find' or 'find and replace' operations on strings, or for input validation. Includes the code used to test regular expressions, used throughout this. Introducing regular expressions: what are they and what you can do with them. Regular expressions, for all their flaws, are still extremely useful to extract content from raw strings. library you should build and test the Java library. Late VKDB is the most concerning type - this bleeding occurs up to 6 months of age in previously healthy infants, and between 30–60% of late VKDB presents as an intracranial bleed. Classical VKDB is typically characterized by bruising or bleeding from the umbilicus. Early VKDB is severe, and is mainly found in infants whose mothers used certain medications during pregnancy that interfere with vitamin K metabolism, such as certain anticonvulsants or isoniazid. VKDB can be classified according to the time of presentation after birth into early (0–24 hours), classical (1–7 days) and late (2–12 weeks) VKDB. Infants who do not receive the vitamin K shot are at risk for developing VKDB. What is vitamin K deficiency bleeding (VKDB)? Infants are therefore predisposed to having low vitamin K levels, resulting in low levels of vitamin K-dependent clotting factors, and an increased risk for bleeding, termed vitamin K deficiency bleeding. Breast milk contains only low levels of vitamin K, and it may take weeks to months for the infant’s ‘sterile’ gut to become established and functional. Also, the bacteria that produce the vitamin in the newborn’s intestines are not yet present. Babies have very little vitamin K in their bodies at birth because only small amounts of the vitamin pass through the placenta. Sources of Vitamin KĪdults get vitamin K from food - mainly leafy green vegetables - and from bacterial synthesis in the gut. Vitamin K is also involved in bone metabolism. Vitamin K refers to a group of structurally similar fat- soluble molecules that are primarily involved in the synthetic pathways of a number of clotting factors. Encourage expectant parents to protect their newborn by making sure he or she gets the shot after birth.Talk to expectant parents about the benefits of a single Vitamin K shot after birth before they get to the delivery room.Provide reliable information to parents about the benefits of Vitamin K so that they can make the most informed choices about their child’s medical care and protect them from potentially devastating health consequences. As a healthcare provider, you are in a unique position to debunk these myths and misperceptions. This puts babies at risk for dangerous bleeding which can lead to brain damage and even death. Although the Vitamin K shot is safe and, as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics, has been routinely given to newborns at birth since 1961, some parents refuse the shot due to myths and misperceptions about its safety. |
